The ideal transmission option is when high transmission reduction is necessary. A worm gear is similar to a helical gear with a throat lower to enhance the outer diameter of the wheel. The throat permits the worm equipment to wrap fully all around the threads of the worm. By chopping the threads on the worm rather than the teeth, and by changing the amount of threads, diverse ratios can be attained without shifting the mounting arrangement.
